Info   >   How-To
Once per week, on Sunday night @ 23:00 UTC, there is a Drawing. This Drawing has 5 different Pools. Each user submits tokens to put their data into the Pools. Tokens for Pools 1 & 2 are given. Tokens for Pools 3, 4, & 5 are earned. To earn tokens, users rate and verify other users' photos. This helps the app be self-managed while giving users feedback on their images. We will try to have the matching process finished before the following Tuesday @ 1500 UTC in hopes of allowing for enough time to plan a date for the upcoming weekend.
The data from the “Profile Data” section is put into the pools. It is the data being searched. The “Pools” or “Dating Pools” section is where the Pool Characters are located. Characters represent the search criteria. They are used to search the pools to find a match. The “Profile Image” section is used for a user's profile when they get a match, and to verify a user's account in the Judging process. The “Judging” section is where user images are judged at random while remaining anonymous. This is how tokens are earned. The “Matches” section is where users can see and message their matches.
The DPA matching process is designed to be low-frequency, high-quality, and passive. Passive meaning the user does not actively participate in the matching process and requires less time from the user. Users only need to spend 5 minutes per week on the app to participate in all five pools. The DPA is not designed like the other “dating apps” that have an “active” matching process that requires you to continually swipe and invest more and more time and or money.
First, you should take a look at our checklist - https://thedatingpoolapp.com/checklist. This helps you assess your situation: what is your timeline, what kind of relationship are looking for, are you ready for a relationship, etc… This helps prepare you so you know exactly what subscription to get and how to utilize the app as soon as you start.
Once you have taken a look at the checklist, you should know which subscription you need. Get started by purchasing a subscription. You have the choice of paying with a card or cryptocurrency. Once your purchase is completed, you will receive an email with a temporary password. Use your email address and temporary password to login to the mobile or web app. You will be prompted to create a new password. Once you are logged in, you should see the home screen that has five buttons: Data, Images, Pools, Judging, and Matches. Start at the top and work your way down. First start with Data. Make sure all the circles in the Data section are green. Then move on to Images. Upload a minimum of 3 images. Then move on to Pools. Create all five of your characters. Then you are ready to submit and earn tokens. All the specific details about each section are below.
1. Create Account - create your profile by submitting personal details like age and height, along with taking quizzes to determine your personality and relationship style.
2. Add Images - A minimum of three images is needed, with a maximum of five images allowed. Images should be in portrait mode and have a file type of jpg.
3. Create your Characters - Characters represent your perfect partner. These are the requirements a user must meet to be able to match with you. Think of Characters as your search criteria.
4. Submit Tokens - For the weekly drawing, the first two tokens are given. The other three are earned by judging other users' images which helps to verify accounts and provide feedback to those users on how other people perceive their images. The drawing happens each week, and you must submit your tokens each week. Each pool has its own token. When tokens are submitted, your data and character for that pool are submitted.
5. Get Matches - No one can see your profile data unless they match with you. To get a match, a user must meet your requirements, and you must meet their requirements. Once you get a match, both users will verify the match. Once verified, both users will be able to message one another and see each other's profile images and data.
If you experience an issue there is a grey button with an exclamation point in the upper right corner of the home page. If you need to report an issue, please fill out this form. This will be added to our queue and will be handled in chronological order.
If you experience an issue where you need to contact Customer Support, there is a grey button with an exclamation point in the upper right corner of the home page. Please verify that the issue you are trying to solve or the question you are asking is not on any of the informational pages of The Dating Pool App website including the FAQ page, and that you have searched online for a solution that could not be readily found or located in ten minutes or less. To send a message to Customer Support select Customer Support for the Category section of the Report Error form.
This is where The Dating Pool App will notify you of any changes or updates.
E2EE (end-to-end encryption) is used on both web and mobile. This encryption is used for encrypting chat messages between you and your matches. You will be required to create a password that is at least 12 characters in length or more. Certain techniques can be used to help you create a safe and secure password. This password will be needed every time you initially open the app on both mobile and web apps.
Basic information about yourself. This contains a Zodiac Sign which references dates on the Gregorian calendar. We understand that you may not use that calendar system or even believe in zodiac signs, but please play along. It is based on your birth date using the Gregorian calendar. The year does not matter.
This should be where you are currently located, or where you spend the majority of your time in a 90-day span. Your account location can only be changed once every 90 days. If you KNOW you are moving within 90 days, then select the location you will be moving to. There is no way to bypass the 90-day rule.
Since The Dating Pool App spans the entire world, we have partitioned the world into different regions that are roughly based on the continents. Server location dictated the boundaries of each region to provide the best possible user experience. Each region has multiple zones. Zones were formed based on population, geography, and country borders.
One zone can be an entire country (ex. Belgium = 1 zone) or a country can have multiple zones (ex. Russia = 60+ zones)
First, choose your region. Then find the zone you are located in.
First you choose which unit of measurement you want to use. Then select which hand you use. This is used to orientate some of the app pages to better your experience on the app. Then you submit your height, weight, chest, waist, and hip measurements. These five measurements plus the three questions below them are used to calculate your body shape and overall health. These specific measurements never leave your device and are deleted from your device's memory when the app is closed. These measurements are only used to calculate a specific value. That value is then compared to the standards we have set in place for all users and a general label is then assigned and saved to your account.
Explainers are given under certain answers to clarify meanings. You may not agree with these explanations or definitions, but these explanations and definitions provided are the required standard that all users will use. Answer all questions honestly. Doing so will allow for the greatest probability of getting your final match. You would not want to match with someone who lied about their characteristics. The same goes for others. That wastes the time of both users and leaves both users unhappy while wasting an opportunity where both users could have gotten a different match which could have been their final match. If you are too embarrassed or ashamed of a certain characteristic that you are willing to lie about it, then you may need to work on yourself first before deciding to take on a relationship.
This quiz has the greatest influence when it comes to compatibility between two people in a relationship. You should take your time with this quiz. It can only be retaken once every 90 days. You are given a statement and you choose whether or not you agree or disagree with that statement.
This quiz decides which type of relationship style you prefer. Again, just like Quiz1, this quiz can only be retaken once every 90 days so take your time and answer honestly. You are given a statement and you choose whether or not you agree or disagree with that statement.
This section is shown on your profile. It is meant to act as a conversation starter to help you and your match engage with one another. It consists of your first name, a topic you are passionate about, a question for your match, and an about section to give a little information about yourself. That provides three different opportunities and do not forget your match will have the same.
This allows you to renew your membership. Your membership does NOT automatically renew. If you wish to end your subscription and delete your account, please go to Account Deletion below.
This allows you to change your password. All account security will be done through email and ONLY this email address:
[email protected]
If you receive an email about your password from any other address, it is not from The Dating Pool App. We recommend adding the above email to your contacts to help prevent phishing attempts. Phishing attempts are done by creating a similar email so that you click on it and enter your information into a webpage that will look very similar to The Dating Pool App website or web app but will have a different domain name (URL). The only thing that would have to be done is to change a single letter or add a single letter to the domain name (URL). Example: this is a similar domain name but has the "-" missing;
[email protected]
So, any information that was entered into that fake phishing site or that email would then be used by those bad people to compromise your account and/or steal your data. Again, to help prevent this;
This deletes your account. This cannot be undone. This will delete all your profile data, images, and characters; and the email that was used to create this account will not be able to create a new account.
- A minimum of three images is required to participate in The Dating Pool App.
- This section is where you add your images for your profile. These images are used in two different places:
Images file type: if using the Web App, images can only be JPG or JPEG. If using the mobile app, JPG, JPEG, HEIC is accepted.
Information - You will see an "A" and a "PQ" next to each image.
- Not Enough Data = image has not been judged yet
- Poor = average rating is below 4
- Acceptable = the average rating is between 4 and 6.99
- Excellent = average rating above 7
With these two pieces of information for each image, you will be able to identify which images are performing poorly and which images are performing well. This will allow you to optimize your images so that you have your best foot forward when you get a match. Image data is updated weekly.
Images can be deleted with the trash icon located in the bottom left corner of the desired image or by replacing the image with a new one via the "Edit" button. button. If an image is deleted or replaced, all data for that image will be deleted.
There are five dating pools. When participating in a Pool, there are two pieces of data sent to the Pool: Your account characteristics, and your ideal partner's characteristics. This section is for your ideal partner's characteristics, what we call a Character. Your Character represents your ideal partner and each pool has its own Character.
Character Creation - we recommend starting with Pool #1 (Character #1).
For all characters, when you start selecting options, think "or". So as an example when it comes to age; "I am interested in someone who is… 25, or 26, or 27".
First, confirm and/or adjust your Character's personality. Pools #1 and #2 can have one personality, and Pools #3, #4, & #5 can have two personalities. Information and recommendations are provided. Make sure to save.
Secondly, choose your location. If you have an Economy or Local Subscription you will not see this option since you can only search one location. After selecting your desired locations, save your data by selecting the green button at the top right corner of the screen or by clicking the white back arrow. This will bring you back to the main character page.
Then continue down the page selecting characteristics that you would want your ideal partner to have. There will be a blue button with an "i" in the upper right corner of some topics. This provides definitions, descriptions, and/or explainers for that topic.
Strategy - Increase Odds - As with all the topics, choosing a single option may greatly reduce the number of users available in that pool. If a topic is not important to you, and/or you are unsure, your odds would improve if you were to select more options rather than fewer options. Keep in mind that this is user-submitted data and that some things can be misinterpreted even though we do our best to provide definitions and explanations. Example: Someone who has light brown eyes selects their eye color as "Brown/Dark-Brown" because they think they have dark brown eyes when they should have selected "Amber/Light-brown". Below are some categories to take special note of:
Strategy - This is how we envisioned The Dating Pool App to be utilized:
In theory;
Ease of use - Create your Pool #1 Character. Then go to the Pool #2 Character and copy your Pool #1 Character to the Pool #2 Character via the "Copy a Character from a Different Pool" button. Edit your Pool #2 Character if you wish and then go to Pool #3 Character, copy the Pool #1 or Pool #2 Character, and then make any changes if necessary. Then go to Pool #4 character and copy the Character from Pool #3. Then go to Pool #5 Character and copy your Pool #3 or Pool #4 Character and edit as needed.
If any changes are made to a single character, it only affects that single character. If you wanted to transfer those changes to another Pool Character, then you would have to re-copy it after you made your changes.
There are five dating pools. Each week, you have the opportunity to participate in all five. To participate in a pool, you have to submit a token. Tokens for Pools #1 & #2 are given. Tokens for Pool #3, #4, and #5 are earned. To earn tokens, you take part in the judging process. The judging process does three things:
The Process:
When you first start the judging process, you will be presented with this question:
"Do all of the images below show the same person?"
Below that question will be the three to five images with a yes and no button at the bottom of the page. These images belong to one profile. If the same person does not show in all the images, please select no. If it is the same person in all of them, select yes. This is used to help separate fake/phishing accounts from authentic users. This is important because users like yourself do not want to waste a match on a fake account.
After answering the question, you will be shown the Judging page. Each picture is judged twice:
You will also see a button for reporting images.
After judging 10 images, you will be brought back to the Judging home screen. Your "Token Submitted" should increase by one if the data was successfully received. Tokens are automatically submitted after judging. If you choose not to judge, and you only want to submit your two given tokens, use the “Update Tokens” button. Again, if successful, your "Token Submitted" should increase by two.
This is where all your matches will be shown. This is where you can look at a profile and see their information and their pictures. You will also be able to message them.
All users of this platform have claimed to be of the age of 18 and/or older. With that, you are an adult.
You are solely responsible for yourself and the actions that you choose to take. The users you match with on this platform are complete strangers. Treat them as such. Be cautious.
When you match with another user, vet/proof/verify that this is a real person that matches their profile information. This can be done in a few different ways. Use your best judgment. Here are a couple of ideas:
First, establish a conversation in chat on this app and see how things go. Then we would say go to an external chat application. We recommend Signal. This will allow for real-time chat messages and still allow you to hide your personal information (learn how to use Signal and how to protect your phone number from being seen). Then you can use the video chat option once you feel comfortable enough.
You can also verify them in other ways. Please view our FAQ page for more information, question 57. Search “Q57”
The purpose is to verify they are a real person; that they match the info on their account; that they do not seem mentally unstable and that they have good intentions. Meeting in person is risky. When meeting for the first time in person, it should always be in a public place where you are not alone. If it is possible to have a friend or friends with you, even better.
All messages between you and your match are encrypted (E2EE).
Matches can be deleted or reported via the red button with the exclamation point in the upper right corner. If you want to report the user, choose report. Reporting the user also deletes them so neither you nor them will be able to access each other's profile or messages. If you want to delete the user and there is no need to report them, choose delete. Deleting a match results in both you and the other user losing access to each other's profile along with losing the ability to message one another through the app. Both actions, Reporting and Deleting, cannot be undone.
